Pirt Neer was one of the Jedi apprentices to participate in the Jedi Apprentice Tournament at the height of the Clone Wars alongside such knights as Sisseri Deo, Whie Malreaux, Pax Chizzik, Horororibb, Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy, and more. During the tournament, Pirt managed to stay in contention as one of the final eight participants. The final round however, was a free-for-all rather than one-on-one matches as the previous rounds had been.

Initiated as a surprise during evening meal, the final eight contestants battled it out in the dining hall among the rest of their fellow Padawans. During the fight, Pirt squared off with Enver Hoxha and managed to disarm him by sending his lightsaber flying across the room. While he focused on demanding Hoxha's surrender, apprentice Lena Missa used the opportunity to sneak up behind Pirt Neer and demand a surrender of his own.
